Welcome to Bryan’s Backbone
Welcome to Bryan’s Backbone — a purpose-driven tech blog built on faith, leadership, and no-fluff engineering. Here’s what you can expect from day one.
Not everything that runs deep is seen — but it holds everything together.
That’s the backbone. And this is mine.
I’m Bryan Steele — a Network Engineer, lifelong learner, and believer. My path into tech wasn’t traditional, but it’s been grounded in discipline, curiosity, and above all, faith in God. That faith is the backbone of who I am — guiding how I work, what I build, and how I grow.
Bryan’s Backbone is a space to document the journey — both technical and personal. Here, you’ll find:
- Real-world projects like running Pi-hole and Unbound on Raspberry Pi systems, securely tunneling traffic with WireGuard, and experimenting with self-hosted infrastructure.
- Networking labs built from the ground up using EVE-NG — diving into MPLS, RSVP-TE, and VPN technologies across simulated service provider environments.
- Linux, cloud, and automation workflows I’m constantly refining with Python, Bash, and SIEM tools.
- Personal growth and leadership insights, shaped by trial, perseverance, and a mindset rooted in faith.
This blog is for builders, tinkerers, and thinkers — anyone who values clear documentation, honest lessons learned, and the kind of perspective that goes deeper than just config files. It’s about building things that last, staying curious, and never losing sight of the foundation.
Whether you're here for technical breakdowns or just looking for solid ground in the noisy world of tech — welcome.
Let’s build the backbone.
